Take the Leap, Make the Commitment
Sunday, November 5, 2017 is Decision Day at CenterPointe and we hope to celebrate many decisions as people take a leap of faith for Christ on this special day. If you have considered being baptized or becoming a member at CenterPointe, Decision Day would be a great day to follow through and make your commitment to Christ and His body at CPCC public.
What is it?
A day set aside to celebrate the decisions people have made to be baptized into Jesus Christ or become members of CenterPointe Christian Church.
When is it?
Sunday, November 5, 2017 during the 10:00am & 11:20am worship gatherings.
How do I sign up to participate?
Use your "Connection Card" on Sunday, or sign up below.
Do I need to attend a class before being baptized or becoming a member?
For Baptism - no. If you believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you are ready to unite with him in Christian Baptism (Romans 6), we are ready to baptize you.
For Membership - yes. We ask everybody to attend our "Membership Class" before becoming a member at CenterPointe.
If I get Baptized at CenterPointe, am I automatically a member at CenterPointe?
No. Upon your baptism you are part of God's greater church. Membership at CenterPointe is a separate decision to make CPCC your church home. Both can hapen at the same time if you desire.
I am coming to be baptized by immersion into Christ. What do I do?
You should bring a towel, flip flops, bathing suit, and/or shorts and a shirt to wear over your bathing suit. There will be a "My Decision Card" in your program that you can fill out and bring with you. Come forward during the invitation time after the message and a ministry leader will help you get ready for your baptism.
I am already an immersed believer. How do I become a member at CenterPointe?
Come forward during the invitation time. There will be a "My Decision Card" in your program that you can fill out and bring with you. A ministry leader will guide you on what to do after coming forward.
What happens when I come forward during the invitiation time on Decision Day?
This is a wonderful opportunity for the congregation to celebrate your decision. After everyone has come forward, we will introduce you to the congregation and as a group have you repeat together the good confession "I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, my Lord and Savior." (You do not need to memorize this statement).
What should I do if I am uncomfortable coming forward or being baptized during the worship service?
It is recommended that you come forward during the invitation time so that everyone can celebrate your decision, buti it is not required. If you want to schedule your baptism in a more private setting, please email Brian Bolton and he will work with you for a different time that is appropriate.
What about photography?
You may certainly have family or friends photograph the decision time and/or your baptism, but there will be church-provided video photography taken of the baptisms. If you are baptized, you will receive a video link of your baptism where you download and share your special moment. Please make sure family and friends do not block the view to the baptistery.
May I bring family and friends?
Definitely! We encourage you to celebrate this event with those close to you. Invite them to join you for the worship service. If you are being baptized, inviting friends is a great way of going public with your faith.
If I still have questions, who should I contact?
Please contact Brian Bolton by email or 859.259.1512.
